Where to stay
This town serves as the entry point to famed island of Sibuyan, considered one of the most biodiverse islands in Asia. Magdiwang is also the jump-off to the notorious volcano Mt. Guiting-Guiting Natural Park, a technically challenging mountain notable for its scrambling and bouldering activities, and outstanding panoramic views. Other than its endemic species of flora and fauna, an iron tree forest can also be found among its slopes, as well as pineapple and watermelon plantations nearby. Sites worth checking out in town include swimming in Lambingan Falls, firefly watching in a mangrove reserve, birdwatching and river trekking at Gaong River, and snorkeling in Magdiwang Fish Sanctuary.
